One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is finding little tools and gadgets that make the job smoother — and honestly, more fun. Over the years, I’ve tested tons of products from Amazon, and a few have become absolute staples in my kit. Whether you’re photographing weddings, families, or events, these are the items that make my workdays easier, more organized, and sometimes just a little more joyful.
Here are five of my favorite Amazon finds for photographers:
1. My Wedding Day Utility Belt
If you’ve ever photographed a wedding, you know it’s a marathon — not a sprint. I used to juggle lenses, SD cards, and my phone in random bag pockets until I discovered this utility belt. It’s lightweight, adjustable, and has just enough compartments for essentials like extra batteries, SD cards, lens caps, and of course - snacks.
I especially love having it for wedding days — it lets me move freely during ceremonies and receptions without lugging around my entire gear bag. If you’re a wedding or event photographer, this is a total game-changer.
2. SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB SD Cards
These are my ride or die memory cards. The SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB SD cards have never failed me, even when shooting long wedding days or fast-paced concert sets. They’re super fast (which means no lag between shots), durable, and large enough that I rarely have to swap them mid-session.
I always recommend keeping at least a couple extras on hand — you’ll thank yourself later!
3. SD Card Organizer Case
If you’re like me and have a million SD cards floating around, you need a sturdy SD card organizer. Mine holds both SD and microSD cards, and it has magnetic closure — ideal for tossing in a camera bag on busy travel or shooting days.
I try to keep mine labeled so I never accidentally format a card before backing it up, and have a running spreadsheet with which sessions are on which card.
4. On-Camera Phone Mount
This one might sound a little extra, but it’s so handy. I attach an on-camera phone mount to my camera’s hot shoe, and it lets me record quick behind-the-scenes clips or keep a shot list handy while I shoot. It’s perfect for creating content for Instagram or TikTok without needing a second tripod or setup, or seeing inspo as I shoot!
Clients also love seeing a peek into what their session looks like from my perspective — it adds a fun, personal touch to their experience.
5. Tiny Cameras for the Kids
This one’s just for fun — but I swear it’s one of my secret session hacks! I keep a couple of mini digital cameras for kids in my bag. Whenever I photograph families, there’s always one curious kid who wants to play photographer. Handing them their own little “camera” keeps them engaged, smiling, and sometimes even helps them feel proud to be part of the process.
It makes for the sweetest candid moments — and honestly, it’s adorable seeing them copy what I’m doing.
All of these little tools might seem small, but they make a big difference in how smoothly my sessions run. From staying organized during weddings to capturing BTS clips and keeping kids entertained, each of these items has earned a permanent place in my camera bag.
If you’re looking to upgrade your photography workflow (or just want to treat yourself to some new gear), these are five I can’t recommend enough.
