I think its time I introduce myself to the photography world a bit more…


Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a Boston & Cape Cod based photographer, specializing in portraits, lifestyle sessions, and events. I’ve been in love with photography ever since I can remember, walking around as a little with my little purple Kodak point-and-shoot camera that I actually still have today - those digital camera vibes are making a comeback after all!


I recently graduated from Roger Williams University with a degree in Interactive Visual Design, and a minor in Photography & Digital Media. With all of those skills in my back pocket, I decided to take my experience with brand design, digital marketing, and photography and combine them into one business that connected all my passions - Em Williams Photo.


I have been pursuing photography on a more professional level since 2020, but it was not until more recently that I decided to take a serious dive into the business world and promote my business to its full extent. I did a lot of research, took some advice from Ben Hartley’s marketing seminar, and finally narrowed down my niche (kinda). That whole process resulted in what you see before you! And it definitely is not over yet - this is a business that will constantly be evolving and growing over time, and I am so excited to continue on that journey.


Enough with all the boring business stuff though, I already covered a lot of that in my very first blog post. I want my clients & viewers to learn more about me personally, so here are a few fun facts about myself!


  1. I was born & raised on Cape Cod, and more recently moved up to the Boston area for work, BUT I love to travel and explore new places so I’m always down for an adventure (especially if it’s to somewhere warm!)
  2. On a related note, my top 3 travel locations on my bucket list are: Greece, Hawaii, and Australia. I spent a semester studying in Italy, and have made my way around Europe a bit, so hopefully I’ll get to explore a bit further.
  3. P.S. If you hire me to shoot your wedding in any of these locations, I will do it for FREE! (Just pay for my travel!)
  4. Aside from portraits & lifestyle photography, I also LOVE photographing and attending different events - especially concerts! During my time at Roger Williams, I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph some pretty cool performances including COIN, Social House, Bryce Vine, NAV, and Preacher Lawson - all while trying not to fangirl too hard.
  5. Some other random interests of mine: music, concerts & live music (duh), collecting vinyls, and curating a playlist for any possible occasion or situation. I think I’ve hit over 100 Spotify playlists at this point.
  6. My favorite food on this planet has to be CHEESE! (kind of fitting for a photographer? Say cheese? I don’t know, maybe that was a bit cheesy…) But seriously - cheese snacks, mac and cheese, just straight up cheese, I LOVE IT
